Percy Allan & Associates is a public sector advisory practice that serves both public, not-for profit and private organisations. Its focus is on policy, economics, finance and management in the public sector.

Its Principal, Professor Percy Allan AM, has helped national, regional and local governments in Australia, China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines and elsewhere review and reform their planning, management and financial policies and practices.

His Australian work includes a financial audit of the Northern Territory, a Commonwealth/State national inquiry into builders’ warranty insurance, a performance review of the Council of Macquarie University, a major inquiry into NSW Local Government and an official review of the effectiveness of NSW Boxing Day Trading legislation.

Professor Allan undertakes smaller to medium sized assignments on his own and supervises a multi-disciplinary team of specialist associates for larger research projects undertaken by his firm. He holds both Bachelor and Master degrees in Economics from the University of Sydney. His qualifications and experience are in economics, government, finance and management.

Professor Allan is a former Secretary of the NSW Treasury (1985-1994) and a former Chair of the NSW Premier’s Council on the Cost & Quality of Government (1999-2007). He has chaired several public and private sector boards.

He is a Visiting Professor at Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM), one of Australia’s leading business schools, and a member of CEDA’s Council on Economic Policy.
